On January 2021, project 5GASP kicked off with the ambition to create a community of 5G experimenters, specially SME’s, interested in experimenting their applications and services in an NFV-based Referente ecosystem of Experimental Facilities.
Today we take a first step by creating this community portal which will host information on how developers of applications targeting 5G infrastructures can develop their applications follow industry best practices.
5GASP is building and will start operating real soon an Open and Inter-Domain 5G NFV-based Reference (Open5G-NFV) ecosystem of Experimental Facilities spread across Europe. Testbeds in Aveiro (PT), Bristol (UK), Murcia (ES), Ljubljana (SL), Patras (GR) and Bucharest (RO) will enable developers to experience and test their applications in experimental pre-commercial 5G.
But this community is about more than 5GASP, we want to build a true community of Developers involved in the development of 5G technologies and beyond. We want to gather this community through a forum where information can be shared, where experts can share knowledge with startups and students, where academics can provide high quality tutorials on how to develop using technologies that support 5G such as NFV, SDN, MANO, MEC and others. This portal will also serve as a repository of all documentation generated by the project and eventually contributed by the community, only a strong developers community can assure the success of these technologies and 5GASP wants to be part of the solution.
